Biography

A new member of #teamredsky, Dundee native Murphy is following in the footsteps of fellow Strathallan alumni, Matt and Zander Fagerson and Jamie Ritchie.

Murphy captained Strathallan to Scottish Schools Cup glory in 2017, defeating Glenalmond College 52-8 in the final, coached by former #teamredsky prop, Ed Kelman.

Currently a full-time player in the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy and aligned to Glasgow Warriors, Murphy represented Scotland at U18 and U19 level before competing in the 2018 U20 6 Nations. Hugely impressing at that tournament, he was then selected as part of the Scotland squad for the 2018 Junior Rugby World Cup Championships. He completed once again in both tournaments in 2019.

With the versatility to play both tight and loosehead prop, making him an asset to any team, Murphy’s determination and work rate on the pitch mark him as a player with a very exciting future.
