Reid - all about it!
Grace Reid took her first World Championships in Budapest by the scruff of the neck and produced her best performances to date.
Grace became Scotland’s first World Championship medallist…ever, winning Silver in the 3m Mixed Synchro with diving partner Tom Daley. She also produced a stunning new personal best score with a 4th in Individual 3m Springboard and finished 5th in the Women’s 3m Synchro, with new partner for 2017, Katherine Torrance.
Surprised? No, this was all done on purpose…
Grace is praised by her coaches for her work ethic. Since competing in the Olympic Final in Rio last year, Grace has been determined to improve and did so by showing maturity in her approach, taking control of her own programme and working closely with the team that supports her.
Grace had to deal with changes to her coaching set up, injury and a demanding university schedule. However, Grace’s experience has taught her to focus on the things she can control and identify the things she can influence that might not be in her control, in order to get the best out of herself. With that mind-set, she set out and planned every detail of her journey and conscientiously followed her plan.
It clearly is paying dividends and Grace will build on this in her drive to be the best she can be!
