Sam Hidalgo-Clyne leads Edinburgh to victory

12 December 2016

It was a busy weekend of sport for #teamredsky with our athletes competing all over the World!

Mark Robertson and Fraser Lyle put in some stellar performances in an enthralling HSBC Sevens World Series Event in Cape Town – finishing in 4th position. Hannah Miley battled to a 4th place finish in the 400 Individual Medley at the World Short Course Championships in Windsor, Canada. Craig Benson was also in action at the Scottish Short Course Championships here in Edinburgh, racing to three Scottish titles in solid early season times.

However, despite an all-round inspiring weekend of sport, our #teamredsky athlete performance of the week was that of Sam Hidalgo-Clyne. Sam showed his grit and resilience in returning to the starting line-up for Edinburgh in a 28-23 victory over Stade Francais. Sam scored a try and went on to win man of the match, a fantastic performance. It’s been a frustrating period for Sam of late but this performance proves his driven approach is beginning to pay off and we look forward to seeing him maintain a starting berth for Edinburgh going forward.
