Inspiring Archibald wins World Cup Gold in Glasgow

7 November 2016

It’s been another inspiring week from #teamredsky and in particular, Katie Archibald. Katie has been at the forefront of Red Sky news in recent weeks, with victories at the European Championships and London 6 Events, but it was the World Cup in Glasgow this past weekend where Katie excelled again with victory.

It was the first time the Madison event has been included in the World Cup program on the female side and there was plenty of excitement and drama to go with it!

Katie had a nasty fall in the scratch race, resulting in a fractured distal radius and scaphoid, but showed an inspiring resilience to continue the race and win the event!

Katie, in good spirits despite her injuries, will bypass the Scottish National Track Championships this coming week as rehabilitation becomes her biggest focus and we look forward to seeing her back in action very soon!

Elsewhere, Nick Civetta made his debut for USA against New Zealand Maori in a tough game, but #teamredsky are immensely proud of Nick and his journey thus far!
